Ennio Morricone – Il maestro
2023 wird das Orient 100 Jahre alt, seit 20 Jahren wird es als Programmkino betrieben und präsentiert sorgsam ausgewählte Werke aus der Welt des Films. Wir blicken in diesen Monaten auch hinter Filmkulissen, im Dezember auf einen besonderen Aspekt: Jenen der Filmmusik. Geradezu legendär ist das Werk des Italieners Ennio Morricone (1928–2020), der im Alter von 8 Jahren noch Arzt werden wollte, dann aber in die Fusstapfen des Vaters als Trompeter trat und zum Filmkomponisten wurde.
Der Filmemacher Giuseppe Tornatore, der mit Morricone für die Kinohommage «Cinema Paradiso» zusammenarbeitete, hat dieses umfassende Porträt gedreht und neben dem Meister selber auch einige seiner Filmemacher zu Wort kommen lassen, von Clint Eastwood über Sergio Leone und Wong Kar-Wai bis hin zu den Tavianis und Roland Joffé sowie MusikerInnen wie Joan Baez, Bruce Springsteen und Zucchero.
