Am Rande der Stadt N’Djamena lebt Amina allein mit ihrer 15-jährigen Tochter Maria. Die Mutter verdient ihren kargen Lebensunterhalt mit der Herstellung kleiner Feuerschalen, die sie mit grosser Handfertigkeit aus dem Draht alter LKW-Reifen bildet. Tochter Maria besucht das Lycée. Sie kennt ihren Vater nicht, denn der hat die Mutter verlassen, nachdem er sie geschwängert hatte. Amina wurde damals von der Schule verwiesen und von ihrer Familie ausgestossen. Nun droht der Tochter das gleiche Schicksal. Als diese schwanger wird, bricht ihre ohnehin schon fragile Welt zusammen. Mahamat-Saleh Haroun greift ein universelles Thema auf. In seiner Handlung sind Frauenpower gefragt und Solidarität unter Frauen, damit sich etwas bewegen kann.
