Les Hirondelles de Kaboul
Sommer 1998 in Kabul. Zunaira ist jung und voller Lebenshunger. Diesen zu stillen ist alles andere als einfach: Die Kinos und Theater in ihrer von den Taliban besetzten Heimatstadt sind geschlossen, Musik ist aus der Öffentlichkeit verbannt, die Uni liegt in Trümmern. Also verbringt Zunaira viel Zeit zu Hause, wo sie auch ihren Freund Mohsen trifft. Die zwei lieben einander von ganzem Herzen – doch dann verändert ein dramatischer Zufall alles. Eine bewegende Geschichte, stimmige Figuren: Der Animationsfilm Hirondelles de Kaboul» basiert auf Yasmina Khadras Roman «Die Schwalben von Kabul», den die Regisseurin Zabou Breitman und die Illustratorin Eléa Gobbé-Mévellec mit Bravour für die Leinwand adaptiert haben. Sie erzählen von religiöser Unterdrückung, vom Kampf um ein würdevolles Leben, von der Kraft der Frauen, und das ist von ungeminderter Aktualität.
